Double Page Spread Layout 1.

This is my first idea for a double page spread, again it is very simple, linking all the ideas together. It also links to my other products because my title is in the top left corner, as it is with the contents page. This design has space for the main image; on the left and information on the right, it isnt as complicated as other double page spreads I have looked at as I dont want it to be confusing

Contents Page Mock Up 2.
This is slightly different from one of my layout plans. Instead of having the main image in the middle and to the left, I thought it would be better to have a really striking image in the centre of the page. This contents also links to the front cover (2). The band and image link them together. Also there is consistency in my designs as they all have the same title layout, with my name in the top left, the edition in the top right and the masthead larger and in the centre.
Front Cover, Mock Up 3.
Again with this mock up I have chosen a band that links to my theme (Indie), this again targets the audience that I want to target. This is again the same style of layout as my first mock up, again this shows what sort of cover Im getting towards. I think that this style is by far the most effective cover option as it shows the main subject, standing out in a dullish, plain background, so that the audience notice the main subject of the magazine.

Front Cover, Mock Up 2.
This cover also is very simple but is the other idea of layout that I thought would look aesthetically pleasing. Again I think the background, the image and the masthead all work excellent together. However I don't think this cover is as effective as the other cover. This could possibly be because there is a bit too much empty space.
Front Cover, Mock Up 1.
This is my first mock up, with my layout and my chosen fonts. I think that the colour of the background and the image link well together, and I am also happy with how the masthead works well with the rest of the cover. As I also think the small caption does, however I am not totally convinced by the 28 days later font at the bottom, I don't think that it works well with the rest of the cover and looks out of place, so this is definitely something I am looking to change.
Contents Page Layout 2.
Contents Layout.
This is the layout that I have chosen for my Contents page. As you can see it is the same design and layout as the one that I used for my pre-lims. I think that this layout works well as it gets a lot of information on the page without it being to much for the viewer. It again has my title 'Pulse' on this page, this creates a sense of consistency throughout my designs. The biggest section of this page is with the main image, which links to the main story, which is what will have gotten people to read the magazine in the first place.
Pulse-Fonts.

These are the fonts that I think look best with my title. I used the baby blocks font for my pre-lims and it worked very well, but it dosent have the same effect with a smaller word such as Pulse. I used the 28 days later font for captions and information in the magazine, I think that I will use this font again as it works well with all lettering. I also like the font at the bottom, this was the last font I found, as I couldn't find a font that suited the name, this does, but I will now have to test this font in my mock ups to see if it does work with my designs, if it dosent I will find some other fonts and test them as well.
